Question and Answers

Q:

Do I have to remove the motor in my Maytag dishwasher in order to replace the pump seal?

A:

The motor does not have to be removed in order to replace the pump seal. The water seal consist of two parts, one fits down in the bottom of the sump and the other mating part of the seal seats up into the bottom of the drain impeller (key#22). I added an image of the parts breakdown of your pump to reference. I recommend making note of the order of the parts as you remove them so you will no what order they go back in. I also added the general tear down instruction however your pump parts my look slightly different.
