I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. I recommend removing the air filter first. Then watch the linage on the carburetor. If you cannot see the linkage on the carburetor with the air filter removed I recommend taking the saw in for service. The reason I recommend taking it in for service is because we to not have the service manuals to guide you if you run into problems. I am sorry you are having a problem with the chain saw. If the chain will not tighten when you loosen the nuts and turn the adjusting screw, I suspect the adjustment pin on the clutch cover is broken or not positioned in the bar. I found a video that shows how to replace the adjustment pin. The video also shows how the pin should fit into the bar. Click here to watch the video.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the trimmer. If you have installed a module and still do not have spark I recommend removing the kill wire and check for spark with a new plug. If you still do not have spark double check the air gap between the module and the magnet on the flywheel. The air gap should be set between .010 to .012. Then check for spark. If there still is no spark, the problem is either a weak flywheel magnet or defective module. If the magnet holds a screwdriver, it should be fine.

Thank you for the reply. If the kill wire is removed from the module, when you are checking for spark it will not matter if it is frayed. You can repair the wire later once you have spark. If the magnet is fine and the air gap is set, you should have spark. If you do not have spark I suspect a defective module. I know it is not likely but everything else is fine. Just make sure you are using a know good plug and it is grounded to a clean ground when checking for spark. I hope this is helpful.

By what you have stated you have done, I suspect the module is defective. If you happen to have the old module, you might want to install it and check for spark with the kill wire disconnected. If you have spark, repair the kill wire. If you do not have spark I recommend replacing the module.

The coil has to be having a good connection to the engine block. This is important for the module to generate the spark. By everything you done so far, I suspect the problem is a defective module. I know it seems unlikely but the checks done point to the module.

We are missing something somewhere. Try to set the air gap at .012. While tightening the screws, make sure the module does not turn away from the flywheel. Then check for spark with out the spark plug. To do this, insert a screwdriver where the spark plug would go. Then hold the shank of the screwdriver about a 1/8 inch or so from the block. While holding the screwdriver in this position, turn the engine over. You should see a spark jump from the shank to the block. If you get spark the plug is causing the problem. Please let me know what you find.
