Q:

MAC 4600 Chain Saw User Manual needed

A:

Thank you for your question.

I have searched for a manual for the chainsaw but did not have any luck. I am sorry I could not help with finding the manual. I recommend posting on manualsonline.com. The post will stay up and if any one uploads a copy, you should be alerted.

Q:

My gas weedwacker (model 358.791040) only runs 5-6 minutes then turns off until cool down. What is wrong?

A:

Be sure you have fresh gas in the trimmer.

Clean the air cleaner and blow any debris out of the engine area with compressed air.

You might have debris in the cooling fins on the engine causing it to overheat. If the air cleaner is clogged, the engine will run to rich and flood.

You could also have a worn spot on a fuel line that is letting air into the line after it warms up.

You could possibly have an ignition module that is cutting out when it heats up.

Look first for things that would cause the trimmer to run too hot.

Q:

McCulloch MAC 160S Chainsaw

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chain saw. If the chain will not tighten when you loosen the nuts and turn the adjusting screw, I suspect the adjustment pin on the clutch cover is broken or not positioned in the bar. I found a video that shows how to replace the adjustment pin. The video also shows how the pin should fit into the bar. Click here to watch the video.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
