Question and Answers

Q:

lxr9245eq1 how do i access lid switch so i can install new one

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order to access and replace the lid switch will require placing the console in the service position and removing the washer cabinet. There is a screw located at the bottom of each console end cap to remove. Slide the console towards the front of the washer and lift it up and hinge it over the rear panel.

I added an image below with the procedure of removing the cabinet. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

What will I need to replace if my agitator auger is slipping?

A:

The likely cause of the auger slipping is due to worn agitate dogs (key#10). The agitate dogs are key#10 as shown in the image I added below. The part number of the agitate dogs are 80040. In order to replace the agitate dogs will require removing the auger. Remove the agitator cap and bolt and pull the agitator off to access the agitate dogs.

Q:

Why won't the agitator operate when I hear the motor running?

A:

If the washer will not agitate or spin, the motor coupler is likely broken or it has a gear case failure. The motor coupler is located between the motor and the gear case. When the motor coupler breaks, the washer will not agitate or spin but only drain.

To access the motor coupler will require removing the washer cabinet. See images below.
