Question and Answers

Q:

Washer not spinning

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know the reason why the washer will not spin.

The model has built in diagnostics and with it not spinning it should be showing an error code.

I will send you a diagnostic procedure so we can get the error code.

Then send me the results so we can figure out what the problem is.

Look at the directions on the 1st and 2nd picture to get the washer into the diagnostic mode.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for the update. Is it possible that the shoe string damaged the pump impeller? Or is the basket not spinning? Please reply after you have examined this possibility. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for the update. E47 Looks like a door lock problem. If it continues I would change out the door lock switch before I look deeper into the electronics. Sam A.

Q:

leaking at washer door

A:

Hi Pauline,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

You did not mention if the leak is during operation or when you open the door. if it is During operation I recommend checking the hinges, door, door gasket, and panel for damage. If it is when you open the door after the cycle it is most likely a door gasket issue.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Washer not spinning?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the washer. The E47 indicates that the door switch PTC has failed. The most likely resolution to your problem is to replace the door switch. If you put it in the diagnostic mode for the spin, it does not look at the door switch and this would prove the theory of a bad door switch. The door lock can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

Before replacing the door lock, unplug the washer from the wall. Then follow the instructions in the image listed below. Just click on the image to enlarge it.
