Question and Answers

Q:

Tub for washer will not fill with water.

A:

Hi Gregory,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

If the washer is not filling, I recommend checking the water supply first. There are screens in the valve that will stop the water flow if they are plugged. First, unplug and turn the water off to the washer. Then remove the hoses and place them into a bucket. Turn the valves back on to see if there is water. If the water supply is fine, look into where the hose attaches. There should be a screen inside. If that screen is dirty, you can clean the screens with vinegar and water. Once they are clean, reconnect the hoses, and check the operation. If the washer still will not fill, the problem could be the water valve, pressure switch, timer, or wiring. To diagnose this issue you will need a volt ohmmeter to make some checks.

Q:

I have a maytag upright washer and dryer model #LSE7804ACE. When starting drying sounds like belt is making a lound noise for about 5 to 10 seconds the it is ok

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The noise could be the belt slipping, blower wheel slipping on the motor shaft, belt idler pulley, drum support rollers, drum support roller shafts/axles or the motor. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer. I added an image below with the procedure of removing the drum and other related components if you feel confident in doing so.NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the laundry center before servicing.
