Question and Answers

Q:

dryer stops running

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom it sounds like the motor is failing if it's stopping in mid cycle. Once the dryer quits running I must assume it will not start back up immediately and it must sit and cool down before it will allow you to re-start it. If this assumption is correct, the motor will most likely need to be replaced.

The motor will likely cost half the price of a basic electric dryer. I would replace the dryer based on its age and symptom rather than replacing the motor.
