Question and Answers

Q:

water is not draining LDF6920ST Lg Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the dishwasher is not draining, the control should display a "DE" for drain error. Does the drain hose connect to your garbage disposal and was the disposal just replaced? If you did just replace the garbage disposal, did you remove the plug from inside the fitting where the drain hose connects?

If you hear the drain pump running and it's not draining, check for blockage where the drain hose connects under the sink or air gap if you have one on the sink.

This LG dishwasher is not service friendly. You may be able to access the drain pump wire connection located in the right rear corner area in order to check the Ohm resistance of the drain pump motor and to check the voltage supply to the drain pump. I added an image below showing how to access the drain pump if you have to remove and replace it. The dishwasher will have to pulled out, the tub felt insulation removed and then the unit flipped upside down. Then you would have to remove the base. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher if the pump is not running. If the drain pump is running and not just humming, check for a blockage in the drain hose.

I added an image below with the basic steps of accessing the drain pump.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

The leaking is coming from the bottom of the door on the left side. What could be the problem only when running through the cycle. LDF6920st Model

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. The leak could be caused by several different reasons and it will be difficult for me to say for sure without being there to diagnose the cause. First thing I recommend checking is the level of the dishwasher from side to side and from front to rear. I recommend raising the front just a little to see if stops the leak. Next, I would make sure that you’re not using too much detergent causing the suds to migrate from under the door and drip water on the floor. Check the door seal to make sure it sealing tight. Make sure the dishwasher is draining properly.

If you are not able to locate the cause of the leak I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
