Question and Answers

Q:

How do I istall a belt on my matag dryer?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The front panel will need to be removed in order to install the belt.  At the bottom of the front panel is a couple of screws to remove. Once the screws have been removed, pull the bottom of the front panel out and slide the front panel down and off. I added an image below of how the belt is routed. You will need to remove the front bulkhead too in order to place the belt over the drum.

Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front panel.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Why does my dryer make a noise but won't start?

A:

There could be one of several possible failures preventing your dryer from starting.

  • Loose or bad wire connections
  • Thermal fuse
  • Door switch
  • Push to start switch
  • Motor
  • Low voltage supply

This type of symptom will require a technician and the proper test equipment to diagnose. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.
