Rinse water becomes red hot

Hi John,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The first thing you need to check is the fill hoses, if the fill hoses are reversed this will happen. The inlet valves on this washer are timer controlled not thermostat controlled. The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.

John, I included the wiring diagram in my last post. You need to check voltage to the hot and cold valves during warm fill. If the hot valve is getting constant voltage and the cold valve is not getting voltage, you will need to replace the timer. The hot valve is wired brown and white and the cold valve is yellow/red and white. I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance please reply to this post. Landell
