Question and Answers

washer problem LAT9420AAE Maytag Maytag laundry

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It may or may not be the drain pump leaking. It could be leaking past the mounting stem and seal if the leak is coming from the top center area under the tub or it could find a leak at one of the hoses or hose connections.

You will need to remove the front panel and watch to see where the water is leaking from. NOTE: Use caution when operating the washer with the front panel off.

To remove the front panel, look near the very bottom of the front panel and remove the two screws. Pull the bottom of the panel outwards towards you at about a 30 degree angle and pull the panel down and off.

Once the panel is off, start a cycle and watch to see were the water is leaking from.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
