Question and Answers

Q:

My washer keeps filling after correct water level is reached

A:

If the water will stop flowing into the tub when you shut the timer off or unplug the washer then it could have a failed:

  1. water level pressure switch
  2. hole in the water level pressure switch hose
  3. pressure switch hose pulled loose
  4. pressure switch hose is stopped up

If you had to turn the water supply off to the washer to stop the water from flowing in then the water inlet valve on the washer is faulty and it needs to be replaced.

To access the water level switch:

  1. Disconnect the power cored from the power source.
  2. Remove the screws nearest each end of the control panel along the top and think there is couple near each end at the bottom front of the control panel.
  3. Roll the front of the control panel forwards to access the water level pressure switch.

In order to inspect the water level pressure hose where it connects to the tub will require removing the front panel. To remove the front panel: Remove the two Phillip head screws located on the bottom front area of the front panel. Pivot the bottom out enough so the top disengages from the top panel and remove. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
