Question and Answers

Q:

I am replacing timer motor #22205033 for Maytag washer #La412. This part is a manufacturer substitute, and it has plastic stem compared to the orginal having a

A:

Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing the timer and replacing the motor.

That timer motor should fit the timer assembly that is in the washer. The difference between the metal gear and the plastic stem should not make a difference in how the motor is installed. If the timer motor will not fit on that timer assembly, you may need to replace the entire timer assembly (part 206686). You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website.

Before replacing any other parts on the washer, I recommend that you consider having a service technician examine it. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.
