Question and Answers

my ge oven wont turn on bake

That link for a previous answer that Aashe provided in the previous response shows some troubleshooting that should help you with this failure. It is likely that the micro switch on that door lock assembly is bad. I recommend that you follow the tips in that previous answer. Unplug the range and access the door latch assembly. The image below shows how to lift the cook top on your model of range. You should be able to lift it by opening the oven door and removing the screws at the front of that cook top. You should then be able to lift that cook top up and access the door latch assembly (shown at the bottom of the image). If you pull the wires off of that switch and tape the ends with electrical tape, you can reassemble the range and see if it works. If it does, then I recommend that you replace that door lock assembly (part WB14T10053). You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. It costs around $70.

Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components.

This information should help you repair this range failure on your own. If you need more help, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
