Question and Answers

Q:

dc fan motor on frigd appears 2 not b working

A:

That bridge between the 2 doors (also called a mullion) will normally get hot when you adjust the temperature in the refrigerator to a colder setting and the compressor runs constantly for a while. You can check the condenser fan to make sure that component is running properly. If the condenser fan is not running or the condenser is dirty, this could cause the mullion to be hotter than normal.

That mullion should cool off after the compressor begins to cycle normally. There is a heater loop of hot gas that is running through the cabinet just behind this mullion to help control moisture in the unit. This is by design. If you are concerned about the refrigerator operating properly, I recommend that you have a service technician examine it. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
