Q:

RF4287 HA we want to bypass water filter, is there cap available to prevent water coming thru to frig section

A:

Thank you for your question on your Samsung refrigerator.

I do not know of any bypass cap on any Samsung refrigerator water filter system.

It should have an automatic bypass shut off when you remove the filter.

If it is leaking, then the filter head has a problem and may need to be replaced.

I would suggest that you put the filter back in and turn the water on and off again and then relieve the pressure with the water dispenser valve and then take the filter out and turn the water back on to see if that will get the auto filter by pass to seal.

If it does not the filter base will have to be replaced.

If you need more information or help please reply and I will be happy to help you.

Q:

I have a Craftsman 5000, 25 horse Kohler engine, Model #917-276360. The engine idles up and down. It stops idling up and down when I pull the choke out. I ha

A:

I think your carburetor has some stopped up fuel and air passages inside. I would order the overhaul kit for the carburetor and clean the passages in the carburetor.

To clean the carburetor, you need to remove the carburetor from the engine. Take a picture or make a drawing of how the governor linkage connects to the carburetor for ease of assembly.

You can see a parts diagram of the carburetor at [www.searspartsdirect.com]. Enter the model of the engine in the search window.

You will need a can of spray carburetor cleaner and access to an air compressor for blowing out the passages in the carburetor.

Remove the fuel cut off solenoid on the bottom of the bowl and remove the fuel bowl. Remove the pin that holds the float in position and remove the float and needle. You should take a picture of how this looks assembled before taking it apart.

Remove the seat the needle on the float seats in. Clean the inlet tube area with carb cleaner.

Remove the Welsh plug in the bottom of the carburetor body (if you have one). You can drive a sharp awl or an icepick through the Welsh plug and pry it out. This will give you access to some fuel passages that meet under the Welsh plug.

Use a piece of soft wire to run through the fuel and air passages inside the body of the carburetor. Look inside the body where the throttle plate mounts for very small holes in the walls. Look also on the end opposite the throttle plate. You need to run the soft wire through each of these. After the wire spray some carburetor cleaner through each passage and then blow them out with compressed air.

Sometimes the passages inside the carburetor are stopped up so bad you can't clean them. When this happens the carburetor has to be replaced.

Q:

How do I assemble my 12" band saw?

A:

It sounds like you have some extra parts for the bandsaw. The owners manual for the saw shows the assembly instructions and a list of all the parts you should have received.

You can download or print a copy of the owner's manual for your bandsaw at [www.managemylife.com].
