Gary, Did you run the factory test mode? The service manual states; "When replacing the keypad membrane, always run the Factory Test Mode to calibrate the keypad membrane to the control board. When replacing the control module, always run the Factory Test Mode to calibrate the keypad membrane and turbidity sensor to the control board." If the dishwasher does not operate after running the factory test to calibrate, you will most likely need to replace the control. I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance please reply to this post. Landell

Q:

25 year old Kenmore 6 upright freezer, found tech sheet that stated part #728839-a, all the numbers on it. The unit was transported upright, since then

A:

I did not find a Kenmore freezer with that exact model number.

The sides of the freezer normally have hot loops of refrigerant lines running through them to drive out moisture from the cabinet. When the compressor is running nearly constantly after it is first started up in a new location, the sides of the freezer can get fairly hot. This is normal. You did not indicate whether the freezer began to cool properly. I recommend that you plug the freezer back in and check to see if it begins to cool down inside. If it does, you can let the freezer continue to run for a day so that it reaches the normal operating temperature. The compressor should begin to cycle on and off once the unit reaches the proper temperature. Once the compressor is cycling on and off, check the sides to see if they are still extremely hot. If the sides are extremely hot or the freezer is not cooling properly, I recommend that you have the freezer serviced (or replace it). Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, reply with additional details and an updated model number.
