Question and Answers

Q:

whirpool dishwasher GU1200 leaks

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. I must assume when you say "it leaks through the seal" that you mean the door seal because the tub is filling with water when not in use and is spilling over the front bottom edge of the tub.

Based on this assumption, the water inlet valve is faulty and is allowing water to slowly seep into the tub and overfill. The water inlet valve (part#8531670) will need to be removed and replaced. The water valve is located behind the lower toe panel. NOTE: Disconnect the voltage supply and water supply before removing and replacing the water inlet valve.

You can order and have the water inlet valve shipped to you from Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
