Question and Answers

Q:

Model #GLEFM397DBA Electric range door. GLEFM397DBA Frigidaire Electric range

A:

It is likely that you will need that hinge kit. Before ordering that part, you can remove the door as shown on page 38 of your owner's manual. Note: That oven door is heavy. Two persons may be required to safely lift the oven door off of the range.

Check the receivers on the frame of the range beside the opening to the oven. If those receivers are bent, you may be able to bend them back in place. Check for the same type of problem with the hinges in the oven door. This is your only chance of avoiding the replacement of those hinges.

Q:

i have a Frigidaire elec stove mod # glefm397dba flashing code F7.10 ?

A:

The "F7 10" fault code implies the left front potentiometer/left front burner switch is open or the Users Interface Board (UIB) is faulty. This means the left front potentiometer/left front burner switch or the (UIB) will need to be replaced. The potentiometer can be tested per the instructions I added below. If the potentiometer tests Okay then the (UIB) will need to be replaced. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the range before removing the panel from behind the console and testing the potentiometer with an ohm meter. I recommend calling a Sears technician to come out and diagnose the failure because it may be covered at no charge depending on the failure. Call Sears at 1-800-4MY-HOME or 1-800-469-4663 to set up an appointment.
