Question and Answers

Q:

Whirlpool Washer Model ghw9200lw0

A:

You could have a problem with the door switch on the washer or with the machine control board. The first image below shows a diagnostic test procedure for that washer. I recommend that you try to start that test and see if it will run properly. If the door won't lock, you can unplug the washer and check the wiring connections on the door lock assembly. The second image below shows a wiring diagram for the washer. The 3rd, 4th and 5th images show how to access that door lock assembly. The 6th image shows how to remove the top panel of the washer so that you can check the wiring connections on the main machine control board. If you can find a loose wiring connection, you may be able to fix this problem without replacing parts. If the wiring connections are okay, you may need to replace that door lock assembly. Reply with additional details if you have a volt/ohm meter and you want to diagnose the failure further.

If you need parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
