Question and Answers

Q:

My electric oven won't heat

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The oven may not be heating because of the due to the thermal-disc/thermal shut down fuse if this failure happened after a self clean cycle or operating the oven for a long period of time.

The thermal disc/oven thermal shut down fuse is located at the back of the oven behind the rear panel. If the thermal disc/oven thermal shut down fuse opens, it will break the line 2 voltage supply to the bake and broil elements.

If you find an open thermal disc, the thermal disc #9759243 for model GBS277PDB11 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct. NOTE: Flip the circuit breakers off dedicated for the wall oven before servicing.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
