Question and Answers

Q:

My Samsung range is showing e08 code and will not come on!

A:

Since none of the components are heating on the range, I recommend that you check the house circuit breakers for range. Shut of the breakers off and then reset them to restore power. This may fix the heating problem.

The range oven control and surface indicator lights will work if only 120 volts of power is supplied to the range.

If you reset the house circuit breakers and the oven and surface elements still won't heat, I recommend that you check the voltage at the range electrical outlet as shown in this brief repair video: Video: Perform a Voltage Check on a 240 Volt Outlet . If that outlet does not have the proper 240 volt power, then you will need to have an electrician examine and repair that outlet.

If that outlet has proper 240 volt power, I recommend that you unplug the range and check the wiring of the outlet cord on the terminal block at the back of the range. You may find a loose wire in that location.

The E-08 code indicates that the clock control board detects that the oven is not heating. The troubleshooting tips provided above may help you resolve the heating problem in the oven and the surface elements.

I hope that these initial troubleshooting tips help you fix the heating problem in your range. If you need more help, reply with additional details.
