Question and Answers

Q:

Problem with a dishwasher Fridgidare model FGHD2433KF1

A:

Hi Roy,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The ER error display can mean:

ER/ER....Switch Failure

ER/CE....Configuration Error

ER/uo.....Vent will not close

ER/uF.....Fan not running

If ER is all you saw I suspect that you have a bad door switch. Both door switches are built into the latch assembly. You could replace the latch (part number 154758101), or for testing purposes, you could bypass both switches. If the unit runs with the switches bypassed, replace the door latch. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance, include more details in a reply to this post.

John, I assume you have a model FGHD2433KF1 or similar dishwasher. On each door switch you will need to bypass the wires with a jumper (black to black and white to white). I am including the wiring diagram in the image below. If I may be of further assistance please include more details and verify your model number in a reply to this post. Landell

Q:

How do I get electrical schematics on appliances? I have a Frigidaire Gallery FGHD2433KF1 dishwasher that will not heat.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added an image below of the wiring diagram. Based on your symptom the voltage supply is dropping out under a current draw. It could have a loose wire, faulty high limit thermostat, control board or loose neutral connection or switch.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Dishwasher Error "uo"

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "uo" indicates the vent is not closing. I added an image below showing how to access the vent. NOTE; Disconnect the power supply from the dishwasher before servicing. I added several images below to reference.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. You can schedule service with Sears Home Services by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.
