Question and Answers

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I assume the electrode is not jumping any spark between the electrode and base. If the wire is connected to the electrode and spark module and the other three electrodes are working, I would have to suspect a faulty spark module. I would check and make sure all the wires are connected to the spark module. The spark module is likely located behind the range. You will need to disconnect the power cord and then remove the panel from behind the range.

Whenever any one of the burner knobs is turned to the light position, all 4 electrodes should begin sparking between the electrode and the grounded burner base. If the burner base is not making a good ground to the top, it will not jump spark on that burner.

If the electrode is sparking and that burner is not igniting, then I would suspect the gas port could be restricted and not letting any gas over to the electrode.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
