Question and Answers

Q:

Electric range FEFL64DSC made an exlposive sound while warming up. Circuit breaker blew. When reset the oven would not heat up. All other functions seemed OK.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the surface elements will continue to work, this would verify the range is getting the proper voltage supply. Based on your symptom and details, if the bake and broil elements are Okay, I suspect the electronic oven control/clock assembly will need to be replaced.  Disconnect the power cord from the power source and then remove the panel from behind the console and inspect the wiring and the components on the electronic oven control board. Based on the "explosive sound while warming up" it should be easy to find the burnt component or wiring connection on the electronic oven control/clock assembly.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
