Question and Answers

2005 Frigidaire MOdel FEF352DSA oven is not heating up

Since the oven initially reaches the set temperature, this indicates that the oven temperature sensor probe is probably okay. Your details also seem to indicate that the heating element is okay since it is able to properly heat the range during the initial temperature rise. It seems like you have a problem with the electronic oven control board in the console (part 316557114). Based on your symptoms, replacing that component may fix your problem. Before you order and replace that part, I recommend that you try a few more tests. Check to see if the broil model is working properly. Make sure that the broil element is heating properly. Unplug the range and check the bake element for damage. Make sure that it is heating properly. I recommend that you use an accurate oven thermometer to check the actual temperature inside the oven cavity. You may have already done that. Use this procedure to determine a cycling temperature at the 375 degree setting:

  1. Set the oven in that bake mode at 375 degrees and allow the oven to fully preheat.
  2. Allow the bake element to cycle on and off at least 5 times once the oven reaches the set temperature.
  3. Record the temperature in the oven cavity one time a minute for a 10 minute period.
  4. Determine the average temperature of the oven during that 10 minute period.

You indicated that the temperature was about 200 degrees after the oven preheated. The above test will verify that temperature or may result in a slightly different temperature. If the temperature is still about 200 degrees during that test and you find no other problems then you may need to replace that control board in the console.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you need parts, you can order them from this page: Frigidaire Range Model FEF352DSA Parts . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing internal components. Note: If you order and replace that electronic oven control board, I recommend that you order the overlay (part 316419101). You will normally need to replace that part at the same time that you replace the control board.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the range, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
