Question and Answers

Q:

Noisy Cooling Fan on Dacor ERD48

A:

Thank you for your question on the cooling fan motor on the Dacor gas range.

I can see where this could a vibration problem with this fan because how it is mounted to the back of the range.

First REMOVE POWER TO THE RANGE.

You will need to move the range out from its location and remove the back cover off the range.

Then on the right had side back there should a panel that looks like a capital T. It should have about 12-5/16 head screws.

The two screws on the inside center of the T secures the cooling fan motor at the top of the T. If those two screws get loose that could be the problem because they are the only screws that hold the fan motor/blower in place.

You may want to check those before you remove the whole panel to see if they are loose.

If the cooling fan motor is the problem it will be easy to change the motor from that point.

I hope this will help you with this problem.

Please let me know what you find and if you have more questions we can continue to trouble shoot from that information.
