Q:

How do I remove water dispenser panel for cleaning on Whirlpool side by side ED series.....without beaking it

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you remove the front cover on the dispenser. I recommend pushing down the cover while prying out with a screwdriver in the notches. This usually keep from breaking the locking taps. Here is a link to order any parts you need. Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

my kenmore washer will not start to drain when wash stops. rinse cycle begins but does not start to drain, instead it continues to stay in wash cyl. washing

A:

Your description indicates that you could have a bad lid switch. Move the timer to the spin mode in the various cycles and see if the motor will run in that section. If not, then I recommend that you unplug the washer and carefully place an insulated jumper wire in the lid switch wire harness plug as shown in the image below to bypass that switch for a brief test. Reassemble the washer and see if it will run in the spin model with that lid bypassed. If the washer works properly with the lid switch bypassed then that component will need to be replaced.

NOTE: Do not continue to operate the washer with that lid switch bypassed. That component must be replaced to safely operate the washer.

If the lid switch is apparently not the failure that is causing this problem then you could have a bad timer. If the washer will enter the spin mode in other cycles or sections of cycles, then you may need to replace that timer. The part number is 3953248. You may want to have a Sears Technician check the washer and verify the failure that is causing this problem before replacing any parts.
