Question and Answers

Q:

There is a leak in our icemaker eveytime it goes through the cycle of making ice cubes. the leak is in the front left side of the icemaker (near wall).

A:

The water could be overflowing the ice mold. You can adjust the fill level of the ice maker using the procedure shown in the image below if necessary. Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the fill adjustment screw if you have to pull the cover off of the ice maker module.

If the ice maker is not overfilling, you could have a crack in the ice mold that is causing this problem. Unplug the refrigerator and examine the ice mold of for cracks or damage. You can remove the ice maker module from the freezer by taking out the two screws that secure it to the side of the freezer wall. Unplug the wire harness and remove the ice maker. Fill it with water at the sink to determine the source of the leak. If the mold is leaking, I recommend that you replace the ice maker module (part number 4317943). You can order this part from the Sears PartsDirect website.
