Question and Answers

Q:

replace icemaker celinoid

A:

To replace the water valve for the icemaker you have to pull the refrigerator out. Unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel. Next, turn the water off going to the refrigerator. Then place a towel on the floor to catch any water that might leak when the water lines. Use a wrench to remove the water supply line to the valve. I recommend removing the screws that mount the valve to the refrigerator before removing the other water lines. Now remove one water line at a time to the new water valve then the wire connectors. The secure the new valve to the refrigerator and connect the water supply line. I recommend turning the water on and plugging the refrigerator in to check for leaks. Have someone fill a few glasses of water while you watch around the valve for leaks. If you do not see any leaks reinstall the back panel and push the refrigerator in. when pushing the refrigerator back in make sure the water supply line is out of the and does not get kinked.

The part number for the valve is 2188542 and can be ordered from the following link. water valve

The valve will also come with instructions. If you need further assistance, please submit more details below.
