Question and Answers

Q:

how to install gasket diswasher

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The link Celene provided in the first response will answer your question. Find the center of the gasket and and start inserting the gasket into the channel at the top center area and then work across and down each side. If it leaks then the gasket was likely installed wrong. Pull it out and install the other way.

Q:

why is my dishwasher leaking at bottom of door

A:

The link for a previous answer that Joseph P. provided in the above response shows some tips that may help you resolve this problem. A leaking problem at the bottom of the door is normally caused by a wave action inside the washer tub. Water will slosh over the front lip of the tub in this situation and leak out of the front of the dishwasher. Check the leveling of the dishwasher and inspect the spray arms as recommended in that previous answer. I don't recommend that you twist the arms too much. Just examine them for cracks or splits.

The wave action in this type of dishwasher is often caused by loose screws on the top of the pump outlet. This component is circled in red on the image below. I recommend that you remove the lower spray arm and check those screws. Tighten them if necessary. This may help you resolve this leaking problem.

If the dishwasher is not draining properly, you can use the tips in this link for a previous answer: How to check a clog in dishwasher drain pump

These tips should help you resolve this dishwasher problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
