Question and Answers

Condensation on the floor under the dryer DRSR495EG1WW Ge Electric dryer

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The symptom you described indicates the venting system is restricted somewhere between the blower assembly and where it exhausts outside. The moisture is getting trapped in the vent system puddling and leaking out of the exhaust pipe.  This would also explain why the back side appears to be getting hotter than normal because a lack of airflow over the heating elements located behind the drum. A restriction will also cause longer dry times too.

Check the vent system for any kinks or restrictions and you may find the problem. Make sure the outside vent is opening when the dryer is running.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

(Why) do I need glue to install lower felt seal WE9M10 on a GE DDE7000SBLWW dryer?

Hi Kim,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The use of glue is not necessary but as you speculated "GE recommends glue to assist in retention of the seal". I myself have not used the glue and it did not seem to cause any ill affects or issues.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
