Question and Answers

Q:

LG Gas Dryer won't heat

A:

First, I recommend that you check that gas supply cut-off valve for the dryer to make sure that it is fully open. Check to see if you have an adequate gas supply provided to the dryer. This basic troubleshooting step should not be overlooked.

I also recommend that you check the exhaust vent duct system to the outside of your home for a clog or restriction.

This type of dryer can be difficult to diagnose and repair. I provided technical information about this dryer in the images below. If you are confident in your technical skills, you may be able to use this information to diagnose and repair the dryer. Be sure that you unplug the dryer before accessing internal components. Some of the tests involve running the dryer with internal components exposed. Use extreme caution when conducting those tests. Unplug the dryer following any live testing . Do not make physical contact with any live wires or electrical leads when conducting testing with the dryer running. Some of the tests below involve live voltage testing using a volt/ohm meter. You should only conduct those live voltage checks if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely measure that voltage . If in doubt, I recommend that you have a service technician repair the dryer. Here is a link for the Sears Service website in case you need it: Sears Home Services .

You can run that diagnostic test shown in the first image to check most of the components in the dryer. You can check the components in that heating system using the information shown below. If you need more help, reply with additional details based on the technical information that is shown below.

If you need parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website.
