Question and Answers

thermostat specs

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Each and every thermostat is normally closed until reaches the set operating temperature at which time it will open and break the electrical circuit to burner assembly. If any of the thermostats are open, the igniter will not glow. If the flame sensor is open, the igniter will not glow.

In order to test the thermostats you will need an Ohm meter. You must disconnect the two wires from the thermostat being tested before checking across the thermostat terminals with the Ohm meter leads. If the Ohm meter measures continuity, the thermostat is closed and Okay. If the Ohm meter does not measure continuity, the thermostat is faulty/open and it would need to be replaced.

I added an image below to reference the thermostat locations.

Key#275 is rated to open approximately at 125 degrees. Key#274 is rated to open approximately at 140 degrees. Key#276 is rated to open approximately at 150 degrees. Key#530 is rated to open approximately at 320 degrees.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
