Question and Answers

Q:

Dyson DC14 Vacuum Clutch Replacement problem

A:

Thank you for your question on repairing the Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner.

Just going from memory I am pretty sure you have to take the top cover off and then remove one screw that is exposed after the cover is removed and then you will have to work the clutch with the gold knob out of the base.

We usually refer all Dyson customers to their help line for specific information on repairing the vacuum cleaners.

Please call Dyson @ 1-866-693-9766.

They may have some hints for you to remove the part you are referring too.

Q:

How do I take the belt out of my vacuum?

A:

I am sending you 2 images that show the disassembly and replacement of the belt on your Dyson. As you can see replacing the belt suggests a special tool. Look at this and decide if you want to replace the belt.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Why does my Dyson DC14 animal vacuum cleaner brush bar quit working when I go from carpet to bare floor and then back?

A:

The settings normally need to be changed when the machine is in the upright position. Here is a link for the owner's manual: Dyson DC14 Owner's Manual . A problem with build-up of hair or string on the brushbar or a blockage in the vacuum cleaner could cause this problem. Clean the brushbar as described in the owner's manual. Also, check for blockages as shown in the manual. Clean the filter if this component has not been recently cleaned. If you need more help, you can call Dyson directly at 1-866-693-9766.
