Q:

can you please tell me how to replace the lower door lock, latch assy. on our Gemini, Maytag stove serial # MER6765BAS18 ? My Name is Joe P and my registered em

A:

You will need to remove the side panel to access the door lock assembly on that lower oven. I provided the written procedure in the image below. You should be able to follow that process to remove and replace that lock mechanism on the lower oven. Be sure that you unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before beginning this procedure. You can view the parts list diagram on the Sears PartsDirect website. That may help you see how the components are assembled when you access the door lock assembly.

If you need more help reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

This is an advanced repair. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

compressor is hot. how many fans to check? Kitchenaid side by side

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand your concern with the compressor being hot.

If the condenser fan is running full speed and the condenser coils are clean there is no other fan to keeps the compressor cool.

The compressor does run hot to the touch normally and if it has been running for awhile, you will not be able to keep your hand on the top of the compressor.

The only other fan is the one for the evaporator in the freezer to circulate the cold air inside the refrigerator.

If you are having cooling problems you may have to have a service technician check out the sealed system on your refrigerator.

I am not able to provide you with a technical manual.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
