Question and Answers

Q:

GE Cafe Range Model # CGS990SET1SS Locked

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

According to the User's manual, all the surface burners are supposed be turned off before pressing the Gas/Control lockout button. I'm not so sure that the Gas/Control lockout was pushed while the stove was in use. If it was I wouldn't think it would cause the symptom you have. If it was in a control lockout, pressing any button would cause LOC ON to display. It says in the User's manual to press the Gas/Control Lockout pan for three (3) seconds until the display shows LOC OFF.

If the range is less than one year old from the date of purchase I recommend calling for service. It could have a faulty glass touch pad or oven control.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
