Q:

Homart 600 model 867

A:

Thank you for your request for a schematic for this old furnace.

I will need a more complete model to have any chance of finding wiring diagram.

Somewhere on the furnace there is a model serial tag with the numbers I need to try to find what you are looking for.

Model number should be formatted 867.XXXXXX.

Homart 600 series. Is this a gas forced air or a boiler? Please reply with the complete model number if you can.

Sam A.

Thank you Bernardo for the update. If the fan on this forced air furnace is staying on then i would look at the heat riser fan switch to see if it is set the on position instead of auto. Also look at the fan switch on the themostat to see if it has an on position for the fan at it also should be on the auto setting. I will look for your update on the model number next Tuesday. Thank you for the update but I think we are still missing a digit or two in the model number. Could it have a 7 in front of the switch? On that same tag should be a manufacturer’s number that starts with some letters like, NFG XXXXXXXXX. Please let me know what you find. Sam A.

Thank you for the update. I am sorry but we do not have any information on this model furnace. Because of its age 8/02/1960 is probably its manufacturing date and I am sorry but the service information is no longer in the system or available. I would suggest finding an HVAC service technician in your area that may know how solve your wiring problem with the furnace. We did find information on an 867.76285 but not on your model. I am sorry that I could not help you. Sam A.

Q:

SERIES 600 KENMORE DRYER

A:

Hi James,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The heating element should have a resistance reading. Depending on the model it should read between 8 to 18 ohms of resistance. Here is a video that demonstrates testing heating elements; Video . So, from your description you most likely need to replace the heating element.

Q:

need to know how to put the belt back on a kenmore washer...the manual I received with the washer doesn't even cover this...

A:

Thank you for your question. Without a model number, I can only give you general information. I have checked our Kenmore 600 series washers and they do not have belts. That washer uses a motor coupler to drive the gear case. I recommend tipping the washer back a little bit so you can see underneath. Most of the time when the coupler breaks the pieces falls to the floor. You may see a black rubber disc and cream-colored plastic parts. I have provided you with the instructions for replacing the motor coupler on a model I think is similar to yours.

The part number for the coupler is 285753A. Please use this link to order the motor coupler

If you need further assistance, please submit more details along with a model number.
