Q:

Old 24" Kenmore Washing Machine

A:

Mary: Thanks for replying with the model number. Fred is off today so I'll be assisting you. Based on your symptom one of the rubber straps used to help keep the tub from moving around so much during an unbalanced load has likely broken. Basically the top will have to come to access the rubber straps. You will need to lift the tub up enough to remove the socket that the suspension rod hangs from and remove the ball socket and slide the strap off and on. I added an image below with some basic instructions. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Sears 24 in snow blower

A:

Thank you for your question on the bolts dragging the driveway.

I believe this is the 247.88957 model is that correct?

These bolts are supposed to be 5/16 x 18 x 3/4 in long carriage bolts.

Do you think that a 5/16 X 18 X 1/2 inch carriage bolts would work better?

With the blade all the way down to the drive way the bolts should miss the driveway by a 1/2 inch.

You do have the correct air pressure in the tires.

If the bolts stick out beyond the nut then maybe they could be cut off flush with the nut.

If the nut is dragging on the driveway I do not know what to tell you.

I know that it might be very inconvenient but you may have to take it to the store so the service technician can check out the problem and see how it can be solved.

Please let me know what you found out to be the resolution to the issue.

Sam A.

Thank you for the update on this issue of the bolts scraping the surface. It was the very next day after I answered you that I had a discussion with a visiting trainer for that manufacturer and we looked at the single stage model we had in class and it did not have that problem and he had not heard of this problem before. Puzzling to say the least. Your resolution may be the right one with cutting the bolts off. I hope that will work out for you. Sam A.
