Q:

Why won't my Kenmore HE 4t washer start?

A:

Your washer should display a fault code to indicate the possible failure if it will not start. It could have a touch pad/LED assembly failure or a door lock failure preventing the washer from starting but it still should display a fault code.

Usually you should first hear the door lock and unlock a couple of times before it begins the cycle and if the door does not lock or if the control board does not detect it locking and unlocking the control panel will display "F/dU or F/dl" to indicate a door error. The control panel should display some type of error code if it will power up and not start. After select the cycle and press start wait to see what error code displays and then resubmit your question with the model number and the fault code for model specific information and instructions.

Q:

kenmore elite HE 4t

A:

I understand your concerns. We need our washer to work when we need it. Based on your details the door lock assembly will need to be removed and replaced. Without having the model number I will not be able to provide the part number of the door lock assembly but you can look up the part and have it ordered and shipped to you from Sears Parts Direct .

I also added a link below with the instructions on how to remove and replace the door lock assembly if you plan on replacing it yourself. Note: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.

Q:

My elite HE 4T is flashing F11? What does this mean?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The link Pavalde2 provided in the first response will explain what "F11" means and what you can do to correct the problem. Generally speaking "F11" indicates a communication issue. It could be caused by a loose wire connection or a cold solder joint on the machine or motor control board. The link will provide additional information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
