Question and Answers

Q:

What can cause an arc in the picture?

A:

Check to see whether the curve is inside the picture or the picture itself curved. When you lose convergence the three colors separate and the top and bottom are curved in creating an arc or it just drifts a little. The curves inside the picture happen with the tubes are overdriven causing the red blue and green to create retrace lines that have a bow in them. These are two different symptoms and I cannot guarantee that you have either but they are two that pop into my mind that are common.

Q:

Arc Welder parts

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. If the insulator on the old cable is fine, I you will only need part number 61171. I recommend taking the cable ends apart before ordering the parts. If the insulator breaks when replacing the ends, you will have to order them and wait until they arrive. I searched for the length of the new cable but the specifications are not listed. I am going to assume the new cable is the same length as the old cable. If you are needing a longer cable I recommend checking with your local welding supply store. Most of them will sell cable by the foot and you install the ends. I had done that with the ground cables on all 3 of my welders. I also got a longer electrode cable for my arc welder. It was always a pain moving the welder around to be able to reach the work.

Here is a link to order any parts you need. Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Sears AC Arc Welder

A:

Thank you for your question on the Old Arc Welder.

I am sorry but I cannot find a manual for your 1964 Craftsman arc welder.

The owner's manual has long since been unavailable. I did not even see one listed in the parts list.

I think you only hope is if someone on the web may have and old copy of one.

I am sorry that I was not able to help you.

Thank you for the comment. The exploded parts information came from the old Ultra Microfiche from days gone by and then scanned and imported it into the electronic format at our location many years back. It did not come of the owner's manual. I am sorry that I cannot help you with the manual. Unless someone out there in the web world has one they are willing to copy or part with, and that may not be very likely. I have one last chance to find one, if it is in and old paper archives file that is off site in storage. I will make a request to see if one is there. Thank you. Sam A.
