Question and Answers

My oven timer/clock went out and the top of the stove gets really hot on the right side when the oven is heating.

There is a vent that comes up through the right rear burner from the oven. That could be causing the heat that you are describing.

If the range has no power at all, I recommend that you check the circuit breaker for the range outlet.

You indicated that you replaced the timer and the thermostat. You could have a problem with the wiring. I recommend that you unplug the range and check the wiring on that thermostat. The technical information in the image below may help you check that wiring. If the thermostat is wired correctly, you could have a problem with the voltage supply to that thermostat. I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair that type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
