You should not need any special beyond the normal tools needed to remove and replace that bearing in the back of the washer tub. If you have removed and replaced bearings in other washers or appliances, then you may be able to replace the bearings in this washer. I don't believe that the metal plate on the back of that washer will need to be removed in order to punch out that existing bearing. You will need to remove the spin basket and you will probably need to pull that outer tub out of the washer to replace that bearing. I provided some information on removing the front panel in the images below. That may help you access and remove that spin basket. If you have not removed and replaced bearings before then you may consider replacing the entire rear outer tub (part 3045ER0008N). You can order parts from this page: LG Washer Model WM2233HS Parts . If you are certain that you can remove the bearings and press the new bearings and seal properly into that tub then you can order just those bearing parts. I don't have specific information on removing and replacing those bearings. I think that you will need 2 bearings and the seal that are shown in that part diagram drawing. You can pull the existing bearing out of the tub to make sure before you order the new bearings. The bearing and seal are probably pressed into the plastic outer tub. If you do not have proper tools to remove and replace the bearing then I recommend that you replace the outer tub.

If you get to a point where you need to have a service technician replace that bearing, then you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
