Question and Answers

Q:

Using washer cleaner on my @wm2101hw

A:

That Tide Washer Cleaner is designed for use in HE (High Efficiency) machines so you can use it on your model of LG washer. It should work well in that machine.

You seem to be describing lint build-up in the rubber door boot at the front of the drum. You can remove the lint and clean that rubber door boot with a solution of liquid chlorine bleach and water (1 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of warm water). Use protective gloves when handling that bleach solution. Wipe the boot down and let the bleach solution set for about 5 minutes. Rinse off the boot with water and then run an empty cycle to rinse the bleach out of the washer. The lint may continue to build up on that door boot. You will need to clear that lint regularly. You can repeat the above procedure for cleaning that boot as needed (usually monthly).

If you are seeing lint accumulation in another area or you have other washer problems, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Hello Nancy. I have that same model of washer in my house. I will look inside mine and see if it has the same rubber lining that you are describing. That will probably give me an idea about what you are seeing. I will update this thread with more information about looking at my own washer. Thanks.

I checked my washer. Other than the rubber door boot at the front of the washer, I only see plastic vanes for agitating the clothes inside the spin basket of the washer. If you have lint accumulating under those vanes, let us know and we will help you with that problem. If that is not the problem, try to send us a digital picture of that lint build-up and we will try to assist you further.

Q:

My LG washing machine fills in spurts and when it stops it shakes the pipes in the house(water Hammer). Is this normal?

A:

Hi Jim,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

These washers pulse when they fill, so that is completely normal. As for the water hammer, you can try turning your water down a little and that may help. If the pipes in the wall are not secured well this may be an ongoing issue though.

James included a link above that explains this in more detail.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

how to replace bearing in lg wm2101hw washer

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the washer. Installing the bearings in the washer is a difficult repair. This repair requires you to use a bearing tool to remove and install the bearings. I recommend having this repair done by a service tech. We offer a flat rate service, which is $129.00 and includes the trip cost and all labor. The only other cost to you would be for parts. if you want to set up service please call 1-800-469-4663. If you think you want to tackle this repair yourself, please let me know if you need the disassembly instructions as well as the installing the bearings in the tub.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
