Q:

Replace interface control? wfw9200sq02 Whirlpool Residential washer

A:

There are 2 user interface control boards on that washer. You will normally need to accurately diagnose the F70 failure before replacing parts. That process is fairly advanced. Here is a link for a previous answer that has some advanced troubleshooting for that F70 failure: How do you properly diagnose the cause of the F70 error code in a Kenmore HE5t washer?

If you have already diagnosed that failure and need to replace one or both of the user interface control boards, you can use the procedure shown in the image below to complete that repair. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components and replacing parts. Note: Your washer may look slightly different than the one shown below but the basic repair procedure is the same.

If you have not already ordered parts, you can order them from this page: Whirlpool Washer Model WTW9200SQ02 Repair Parts.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

whirpool washer Mod.#WFW9200SQ02 is making a clicking sound during the wash cycle only, sound is comming from belt/pully area

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. The noise is likely caused from a loose pulley nut or a worn tub bearing. I recommend removing the rear panel and check for a loose pulley nut. If the nut is tight, the failure is likely the bearing. The bearing is non-replaceable. The rear tub w/bearing would have to be replaced as an assembly. Note: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear panel.

The tub assembly will have to be completely taken out of the cabinet in order to replace the rear tub assembly. I recommend having a technician perform this procedure.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
