Hi Patricia,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

James R included a link to a previous answer that really explains the F35 well. All three of these errors SUDS, F35, and F20 can be attributed to using the wrong detergent or too much detergent. Always use HE detergent and follow the manufacturers directions. Follow Mark’s suggestions and let me know what you find.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

I see that Henry posted a link for a previous answer that has some troubleshooting for that type of failure on a Kenmore HE washer.

A technician is normally needed to diagnose and repair that type of problem. You can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services Washer Repair.

If you want to fix this problem yourself and you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Hello David. You could have a problem with the door switch. I posted some technical information in the images below. Since the washer powers up, you can try to start the diagnostic test that is shown in the first image below. You may or may not be able to start that test if you have a bad door switch on the door lock/switch assembly. If that diagnostic test will start, then you may be able to determine the cause of your failure from the fault codes listed in the second image. If the diagnostic test will not start, then I recommend that you UNPLUG the washer and check the door switch. The wiring diagram for the washer is shown at the bottom of the first image. You can check the continuity through the door switch circuit from the main control board in the top of the washer. Remove the top panel to access that control board. Screws at the top of the back panel secure it to the washer frame. Remove those screws and then pull the top panel back slightly and then up and off the washer. You can check the door switch by removing the door lock/switch harness and checking the continuity through the wires that connect to pins 8 and 9 as shown in the wiring diagram (with the washer still UNPLUGGED). If that circuit is "open" electrically then you can check the door switch directly at the door lock/switch assembly. Open the washer door and remove the spring clamp on the rubber boot. Push the rubber door boot in and remove the door lock/switch assembly from the front panel of the washer. Check the continuity through the door switch. If that switch is bad, then the door lock/switch assembly will need to be replaced. You can order parts from this page: Kenmore Elite Washer Model 110.47799701 Repair Parts . Unplug the washer before accessing and replacing internal components. (Continued below)

If you access or replace that door switch, you will need to replace the spring clamp on that door boot properly when the work is completed. That spring clamp can be a challenge to replace on the front of the washer. Lubricate the door boot with some dish soap to help you slide that spring clamp back on the door boot around the lip on that front panel. If the door switch is okay and that circuit from the control board measures continuity with the door closed, then you may need to replace that control board. Reply with additional details based on the above tests if you need more assistance.

Hello David. That F70 code is a communication failure that can be caused by a failed user interface control board. Here is a link for a previous answer that discusses troubleshooting for that failure: How do you properly diagnose the cause of the F70 error code in a Kenmore HE5t washer? . That failure does require some advanced technical diagnosis in most situations. If you need more help, reply with additional details based on the tests in that previous answer.

Q:

kenmore washing machine model 47781 701 has a F35 error. What do I do?

A:

Thank you your question.

I see that celene has given you a link to an answered question. I would like to add a bit more details about the F35 error code. The F35 indicates a water level pressure sensor failure. The SUD is normally displayed when there is excessive detergent suds in the tub. A loose wire harness connection could be causing this problem is there is no water or suds in the tub. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the top panel. Screws at the very back of the top panel secure it to the washer frame. Remove the screws and then pull the top panel slightly back and then up and off of the washer. The analog water level pressure sensor is shown in the first image below. The second image shows a clear picture of this component. Check the wire harness connection on this sensor. If you find a loose connection, secure the wire harness properly on the component then reassemble and test the washer. If you continue to get the F35 code, then this component will need to be replaced.

You can order a new analog water level pressure sensor from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you need more help with this problem, reply with additional details.
