Q:

w hirlpool washer

A:

Hi Ralph,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

There is one detail I need to know. Does it drain the water out first or does it just stop agitating and then hum? If the washer doesn't drain then I suspect the lid switch is the most likely problem and a good place to start. If the washer will drain then do nothing it may be a timer or pressure switch problem.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Need help w/ Lawn Tractor 917.270531.

A:

Thank you for the question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. It can be difficult to remove the brake inter lock switch. If you have a problem removing the switch, I recommend removing the mower deck from the tractor. This will give you more room to work and you will have better access to the switch. If by chance the problem is the tractor stalls when you let out on the brake, the fault could be the seat switch connector. The connector has a small wire in it that will short the wires and stall the engine when the brake is released. I recommend checking the connector. If it not pushed onto the seat switch all the way, it will short out. If the connector is fully seated, look inside of the connector. If the wire is not breaking contact, when you push on the tab the connector should be replaced. The part number for the connector is 148706 and can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct . I only mentioned the connector because we have seen them fail.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please reply below with more details.
