My GE Profile Dryer DPSE810EG5WT hums but does not run when start button is pushed

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the motor hums when start is pushed, the motor is getting voltage but it may not be getting the proper voltage. All of the components you mentioned and checked are okay or the motor would not hum. The thermostats will have nothing to do with the motor not starting. The thermostats regulate temperatures. The dryer will not heat if the motor will not run.

The problem is more likely a friction issue or something stuck in the blower housing preventing the blower wheel and motor from spinning. The voltage supply at the motor is measured across the RED wire and the Brown wire with the yellow stripe.  The motor does not have reset button.

NOTE: I do recommend making any voltage measurements at the motor unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.

I added an image below if needed.  If your attempt to check the voltage supply at the motor, remember to reconnect the door switch or the dryer motor will not attempt to hum when started. It needs to see the door switch circuit closed.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link:Sears Home Services.

Repair of Craftsman scroll saw switch

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the saw. By looking at the parts break down the retainer only holds the spacer in place. I do not see where removing it will cause any problems. After you make the repairs be sure to reinstall the spacer and retainer.

If the saw is considered shop, it is a product that is small enough for the customer to bring to the store for the repair. If you do not feel comfortable repairing the saw yourself I recommend calling your local Sears store to find out where to bring it. I am sorry they had said a service tech would need to come out.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the saw I will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
