Question and Answers

Q:

Our Kenmore dehumidifier begins to start and then trips with fault code of 51 or S1. What could be the problem?

A:

The error code S1 indicates the control board or the sensor has failed on the dehumidifier. There is no test for either part. You can read the resistance of the sensor with an ohm meter, but we don't have a resistance value too know what it should read.

The part number of the sensor is 6877A30013L (it is called a harness in the parts list) and the cost is around $12.00. The part number for the control board is 6871A10141B, and the cost is around $15.00.

Q:

installing new infinite switch, have correct part according to Sears Direct, part has double prong on bottom right, instead of a single prong

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It would be very helpful to know the part number of the infinite switch received and it would be helpful to know which burner the switch operates. Left front, right front, left rear or right rear?

I checked part number 316238201 at it appears to have a P2 and S1 terminal right next to each other. It looks like S1 and P2 are bridged together meaning it should not make any difference. If the wire was connected to S1 on the old switch, connect it to S1, if it was connected to P2, connect it to P2 but it should not make any difference looking at the image of the switch part #316238201.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Transformer #T-91069: The risistors that are sawdered on to the assembly have melted due to a power outage.

A:

Thank you for your question on the transformer.

Without the model number of the product I will not be able to help you with the burned resisters and diode.

I believe that this is a very old battery charger with the model number that may have started with a 608.71261. Or 608.718360.or 608.718361. These models all take that transformer.

Because of its age the manufacturer does not have any information on the internal components and not of the parts are available.

Most manufacturers do not give us that information on internal components unless it is an electronic product that has schematics.

I am sorry that I will not be able to provide you with that information.
