Q:

Diehard 950 Portable Power Source

A:

Thank you for your question on the alarm sound on the Portable power source.

There is a built in alarm the will go off if you have reversed the polarity of the battery you have hooked up too.

If it is not hooked to a battery there could be a problem with the internal battery. Can you tell me what the display say's about the percentage of charge on the internal battery?

If it is okay then I would say that there is a problem with the alarm circuit inside the unit.

If as you say the unit is 15 months old it is no longer under warranty.

If the unit is still working and the only issue is the alarm there may be a way to internally shut that off. But you would have to open it up and find the alarm speaker.

These units are not serviceable except for the battery and light bulbs.

I am sorry that this Diehard portable power source did not give you better service.

Please let me know what you find out.

Sam A.

Q:

difference between a 950 watt oven and a 1100 watt oven

A:

The essential features of these two microwaves are shown in the image below. Although the model 8601 has only 950 watts of power in the microwave function, it does have a convection feature. If you think that you will use the convection feature, you will probably want the model 8601.

The difference between 950 watts and 1100 watts is not that significant in my opinion. If you were heating a liter of water in the microwave, the 1100 watt microwave would heat the water up about 7 degrees hotter in 2 minutes than the 950 watt microwave. The 1100 watt microwave is slightly more powerful but the wattage does not make that much difference.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.
